Book Shopping with Emma!

Today I went book shopping with Emma and she encouraged me to get far too many books!
This is just a short post to share what books I got as otherwise my wrap-up is going to be far too long!! Most of these books were secondhand or on offer, so I justified buying so many thanks to that!

We ended up going to about 5 different locations to hunt for books and I consequently have an even longer TBR thanks to Emma pointing out books that she recommends.

Books Emma got:

The Crucible (play) by Arthur Miller
Emma and I are both theatre nerds and if you listen to us when we are together we predominantly converse in musical lyrics

Dr Jekyll & Mr Seek by Anthony O'Neill

Emma studied Jekyll and Hyde for her GCSE English so she knows the story pretty well and the spin-off looked interesting. I'm surprised she's not sick of anything to do with it!

Doctor Who magazine

It is safe to say that Emma is obsessed with Doctor Who. She was very pleased with me when I finally watched them all. She got the latest magazine to add to her collection.

Books I got: (Let's see who has more self-control)

The Chaos Walking trilogy by Patrick Ness

This trilogy was on sale for such a good price that I couldn't resist! I had planned to borrow Emma's copies but don't want to rush her to finish them so I got my own. We can now read and discuss them at our own pace.

The Poet X by Elizabeth Acevedo

I have heard some amazing things about this book and it was also a recommendation from Emma so I decided to get it. I can't wait to read it.

The Paper & Hearts Society by Lucy Powrie

This book sounds like the perfect book for book-lovers to read! I will make sure to pick it up next time I'm in the mood for a nice light read.

The Readers of Broken Wheel Recommend by Katarina Bivald

This sounds like another book celebrating the magic of storytelling. Unfortunately the cover is a bit damaged on this book but it is still readable!!

Bridge of Clay by Markus Zusak

I know I already have this book and haven't finished it yet (trust me, I feel the shame). But I initially picked it up as it was a new cover, then I opened it and it was signed!!! From then on there was no turning back! I have a book signed by Markus Zusak!!!!!

That's it for my short book haul!
Thank you for a lovely day, Emma. Sorry bookshelf for asking you to squeeze in an impossible number of books.
