August Wrap-Up

I read SO much in August!
August was my last month of (semi) freedom before I started my new course (Can you tell it all goes down in September? I'm already behind on uploading posts!). Although I worked A LOT, I still found the time to get lots of reading done but also just to relax and have fun.

Forcing my friends to read We Were Liars (their reviews)

A few years ago, I read We Were Liars by E. Lockhart and loved it! I have reread it multiple times since and each time I find some new details which influence the storyline. The writing is so intricate and clever. I just need everyone to read it so I can discuss it... so that's what I did... I forced (well persistently persuaded) my friends to read it...
Here are their thoughts on the book...

Three Dark Crowns Review and Book Of The Month Questions

Three Dark Crowns by Kendare Blake was my book of the month with Chloe from Forever Fictional. Yes, we are back! Unfortunately we both agreed that it was a disappointing first read back (especially for Chloe, see her review *rant* HERE).
Each month, as a form of discussing the book, Chloe and I are going to send each other questions about our thoughts on the book. You can find Chloe's answers to my questions HERE.

Love Your Library Challenge Announcement

We are already a week into the month and I have decided to start a reading challenge... fool.

There have been so many reading challenges going around lately and I really wanted to participate in one. When I saw this reading bingo sheet in my local library today I knew that I could have fun with it. This is not my document, it is made by Hampshire library service. Although you can not use their services outside of Hampshire, their resource is great for any library.
This challenge is pretty straightforward. Each book you read, you cross off and try and make lines like a normal game of bingo. I have decided my own rules, but it is really not too complicated.

July Wrap-Up!

July has been a great month for my blog. I managed to write loads of posts which I am actually pleased with. I also got a decent amount of books read. As much as I could, I made the most of the sun and found new locations to read where I wouldn't be disturbed every two minutes!

Reader Problems - Taking Books On Holiday

I was thinking about starting a new series of posts called 'Reader Problems'. I know it's not a very original concept as other people are already making similar content, but I think it will be fun for me to write, so... I'm doing it anyway.
As I'm currently on holiday (hoping I finish writing this on time), I thought it would be fun to discuss all the problems I faced when trying to decide what books to take with me.
I have narrowed it down to my top five things I needed to consider when selecting books to take away with me.

How Accurate Are Reader Stereotypes?

What do people assume about you when you tell them that you like reading?

Chloe- "I'm a nerd, friendless, boring, shy and have no life?"
Aaron- "Gay, sad. They are confused."
Emma- "I'm really introverted?"

There are lots of negative thoughts that come to people's mind when we confess our love of books. How accurate are they?
Are we so strange that our enjoyment of reading can never be understood?

Mid Year Book Freak Out Tag!

We have made it half way through the year so we can now freak out about how quickly time passes and how little time we have to achieve all we wanted!... (That might just be me).
Truthfully though, in terms of books, I'm feeling good. Of course I have a monstrous TBR, but we shook hands and came to the agreement that if I keep reading, I can keep feeding it more books.

I have read 32 books so far this year meaning that I have surpassed my reading challenge! At the beginning of the year due to lack of self motivation and all other fun mental health stuff, I was barely reading anything, so I set my reading challenge pretty low. I had considered raising it when I got back into reading, but I'll take any overachieving I can get and look at me go!!

Today, I'll be doing the Mid Year Book Freak Out Tag to reflect on the books I've read so far this year. I feel like the books I've been reading have been predominantly pretty good this year. When looking for the questions for this tag, I found numerous variations of the questions and wasn't sure which were the original, so if I don't answer any that you want to know, let me know in the comments!

Book Shopping with Emma!

Today I went book shopping with Emma and she encouraged me to get far too many books!
This is just a short post to share what books I got as otherwise my wrap-up is going to be far too long!! Most of these books were secondhand or on offer, so I justified buying so many thanks to that!

June Wrap-Up!

Summer has begun!!!!! Well, for me at least, I know that some schoolkids are still trapped (Sorry, but I did my waiting! Twelve years of it! In Azkaban!!!!).
I can now read whenever I want (except when I have to work - annoying) without having to worry about revising or any exam related stuff.
As a result of this, I have read so much in June!!! I read a total of 9 books (nearly 10) which is amazing!! I ended up reaching my Goodreads challenge and enjoying some really great books! I have also made the most of the sun when it finally came (it is confirmed that I am no longer a vampire) and participated in way too much socialising (who even am I?).

May Wrap-Up!

As predicted, I didn't write any posts in May, but that's okay as I had exams and other stresses happening -yay...
Although I have not done much this month, I have taken every opportunity I can to read and managed to read 8 books!!! They weren't all long books but it's still a good accomplishment!

April Wrap-Up!

Spring has sprung upon us!
This month has been the craziest of the year - one minute I am free-falling 7,000 ft in the air and the next I am stuck in a stuffy exam room.
Also, sorry this is a bit late, I haven't exactly had much time on my hands recently.

Doctor Who in London! + other adventures..

For my boyfriend's (Aaron) 18th birthday, I took him to London for a surprise Doctor Who walking tour as he is a big fan of the series (basically his version of Harry Potter to me). We visited filming locations as well as sights of inspiration for the well-known series.
I had to overcome lots of hurdles along the way, but it was an overall success and a day we'll remember. We ended up visiting other places such as Harry Potter themed locations as well as huge bookshops, but more on that later...

By the way, I have written this post in which I hope to be an engaging short story style. Basically, it's long and I don't go directly to the point. I hope you enjoy it, but I understand if you just want to skim read the key parts, it should be clearly divided into events.

March Wrap-Up

Can the year please slow down????? Suddenly everything is creeping up on me!

March was busier than I expected. When remembering what I have done this month I was surprised at how busy I have been. No wonder I am panicking about not doing enough college revision!

Writing and Publishing Weekend

As aspiring authors, Chloe (Forever Fictional) and I decided to go to a local writing and publishing weekend as part of the overall event: Bookfest.
At the event we heard from authors, publishers, editors and a wide range of people at different stages in their writing.
Unfortunately due to both of us working, we were unable to go to the Saturday session and had to leave slightly early from the Sunday one. Even so, it was a really interesting event and we enjoyed it.

February Wrap-Up

Look at me posting on time!!
I always forget how short February is! Even in this short month I managed to read loads! This month I read a total of 5 books, as well as enjoying the few days of sun we had in the UK.

Blind Date with a Book!

Today we (Emma, Me, Chloe [Forever Fictional] and Taya) visited our additional home: Waterstones.
Whilst in the kingdom of books, we decided to be brave and try their 'Blind Date with a Book'. Basically, you get given 5 words that describe the book and you buy whichever one interests you.

January Wrap-Up

We'll just pretend that February isn't a week or so in already..
I did post in January but not as much as I wanted to but I have some exciting ideas written down so hopefully they are coming soon!!

These are my favourite things from January. Although it was just after Christmas I still managed to gain a few books.. whoops!

Everybody's Talking About Jamie - Original Tag

I made a book tag!!

As I've mentioned before, I love musicals and want to start including them in my blog more. I have previously done book tags from other musicals (you can't currently see them.. sorry) but with some searching I could not find one for this amazing musical. If one does exist.. sorry, please let me know!

I have linked the soundtrack from YouTube HERE. (The song 'If I Met Myself Again' doesn't seem to work so you have to get that separately..)

Welcome to Liber Amoris (..again)

Welcome to Liber Amoris. If you're an old follower- hello again.
I am making my big comeback to blogging *insert dramatic music*.
In an attempt to give an insight into where on earth I disappeared to (maybe I wasn't on earth..) I am doing the 'Getting Back to Booktube' tag (adapted for a blog) by vincentvanstop. I'm also giving a brief update on my past year and what I've been up to.
